Statement of Beliefs
Lebanon BaptistChurch
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is without error and is profitable for teaching, training, rebuking, and discipline. It details God’s plan of redemption and grace for all of mankind. It truly is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind.
We believe that God of the Bible is the only true and living God. He is the creator and sustainer of all things. He is one God who eternally and equally exists as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that mankind was the highlight of God’s creative work. However, due to the sin of one man(Adam), all mankind is born sinful and in need of a savior. God created mankind male and female, and we support the gender roles as outlined in scripture.
We believe that Salvation is a free gift from God because of his great love for us. Salvation is offered through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which mankind must be saved. Salvation is by God’s grace alone. It cannot be bought, earned, or bartered. Salvation comes by a new birth. This new birth starts with personal faith in Jesus Christ
We believe that baptism is symbolic of action that has taken place in the heart. Baptism occurs after salvation as a public expression of the regeneration that has taken place. Baptism in the Biblical sense is by full immersion.
We believe and await the physical bodily return of Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, gave him self freely in death, was raised from the grave and will return again as stated in Scripture. He will come for His followers and will take them to live in heaven for all eternity.
